Pantene’s color of the year 2017, Greenery

Saturday: Home Decor and DIY Projects (a bit late….but better late than never)

Pantene’s color of the year 2017 is Greenery.

Pantone Color of the Year 2017, Greenery

This color is an earthy hue which symbolizes energy, new beginnings, and renewal. It’s definitely a green with a lot of yellow in it. It definitely has a fresh spring appearance.

I find it a really refreshing and energizing color. It has a richness and vibrancy to it that makes it come alive.

Natural Environment: It evokes the early days of spring which are all about the “re” words especially; renew, replenish, revive, refresh, reinvigorate, rejuvenate, regenerate, and restore.

I love that the color experts called it “nature’s neutral” as it goes with all other colors. Its a bit of departure from richer deeper colors and instead comes across as a really fresh color with an interest bright but also light and fresh. It can come in a variety of shades.

The need for inspiration and connection to the Great Outdoors: I think this color speaks to people’s goal of reconnecting with nature in a world where we are all increasingly busy. We all need to find a way to reconnect with nature. We need a break- we need to disconnect from technology. There’s nothing I like more than sitting on my deck, surrounded by the trees listening to the birds singing and lots of planters full of flowers. It speaks to my goal of relaxation. Fresh air and sunshine (vitamin D) does a soul some good.

This gorgeous color works with a variety of other color palettes such as a calm pastel palette, moody jewel tones, a variety of green tones with purple, a mix of blue and green, forest rich colors, Grand Canyon (sand inspired colors), and other earth tones.

It can be used as an accent color or as a foundation color.

It can be mixed with or without neutrals.

Greenery shows up as an accent on the ottoman (mixed with white, black, and brown neutrals).

Greenery can be used in small or large doses throughout a room design.

Used on the textured wall paper.
